Australia’s Choirs & Musicians Show Solidarity with Asylum Seekers & Say “NO MORE” with Viral Music Video.
Musicians from all walks of Aussie society this week have joined together to make the most powerful statement they could in response to Australia’s current treatment of asylum seekers in offshore detention centres.
The video adds its tremendous voice to the roar of the growing number of Australians, in their push to find a resolution to the ongoing humanitarian crisis unfolding off our shores.
Featuring 9 choirs, 7 Orchestras and more than 300 of Australia’s finest musicians, composers, artists, producers and supporters, the message rings very clear :
“As a nation we have to do better. Much better!”
The song is about a young Prince Charles who escapes by boat to take refuge in another country until the day that he can return as king. Will the bonnie Prince Charlie make it through the turbulent waters of political and physical violence to find safety?
The music is an original composition of a Latin Mass combined with the Scottish folksong The Skye Boat song (otherwise known as Speed Bonnie Boat).
